Smash Sweet Potato Chips Thumb

When it comes to grocery shopping staples, sweet potatoes are just about always on my list. Maybe it’s because I was still young and impressionable when the sweet potato fry was sold as the “healthier” option, but I absolutely love this vibrant root veggie. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re loaded with vitamins and versatile as can be. If you’re a fellow sweet potato fan then today’s recipe is for you! These easy Smashed Sweet Potato Chips are easy to make and sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.

Smash Sweet Potato Chips Verti-7

To start things out, peel and chop your sweet potatoes into chunks. You’ll then boil the potatoes just until tender and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. To smash the potato, I found it easiest to place a small square of parchment paper over it then use the bottom of a cup to press down. You want the potatoes to be an even thickness so the edges don’t get overly crispy.

Bake the smashed potatoes for about 30 minutes, or until the edges are browning. I like to dip them in a tangy sauce like ranch, but these would pair with many tasty options. You could also mix up the seasoning to suit your taste. However you prepare them, these easy baked chips are sure to become a new favorite!
