Although we have many different dressing choices, there is nothing quite like ranch dressing. It’s fantastic when you put it on a salad and if you want something to dip your hot wings in, it’s usually at the top of the list.
There are also plenty of people who love ranch dressing but they say they love it a little more when they eat it at a restaurant. As it turns out, they may not be imagining things.

It’s not uncommon for different foods and beverages to taste a little better when you eat them at a restaurant. It may be the way they bottle them or serve them and at times, there may even be a little something added to it.
According to Mel Magazine, as far as ranch dressing is concerned, it is unlikely that the restaurant is making it from scratch. More than likely, they are just pulling out a bottle of Hidden Valley and pouring it into the little dishes that end up on your table. That is likely the same type of ranch dressing you use at home.

The secret is actually not in how it is served by rather, in how the mix is prepared. Ranch dressing contains a variety of herbs in a creamy base that makes it so delicious. After it is bottled, an oil base dairy substitute is often what you would find as the creamy base.
The benefits of having that base are obvious. For one thing, it costs literally nothing to make and if you leave it on a shelf unrefrigerated, it is not going to go bad very quickly.

Many restaurants also use a mass-produced mix in order to put together their ranch dressing. The difference is, they add the mix to a base that is of higher quality, such as sour cream, milk, buttermilk, or mayonnaise. That is why it tastes better. You are still getting the same ingredients in the dressing but you are getting it in a better base.
The more you know!
