If you happen to be a big fan of Oscar Mayer, you may have tried their ham & cheese loaf on occasion.

It’s a great treat and makes for a quick sandwich, but if you have any in your refrigerator, you might want to check it.

The Department Of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service is calling for the recall of around 2,400 pounds of that lunchmeat. The product was shipped to Virginia and Ohio and the distribution centers then sent it out for sale at retail locations. It was produced on October 10.

When the FSIS was notified of the problem, they were told that the same equipment was used for cutting the Oscar Mayer Ham & Cheese Loaf that was also used for cutting a product that was under-processed.

Since the equipment was not cleaned between those two products, there is a concern over cross-contamination.

According to a statement from the FSIS: “There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.”

If you have some Oscar Mayer Ham & Cheese Loaf that is included in the recall, they are asking that you don’t eat it. You can either throw it away or take it back to where you purchased it for a refund.

To see if the lunchmeat you have is included in the recall, look for the following code with the packaging: “07 Feb 2023 20:40 7B” through “07 Feb 2023 22:16 7B.”
