If you are anything like us, you love McDonald’s breakfast. To us, this is one of the most undeniable fast food offerings that our country has.
We have had their breakfast a number of times but we still have major questions. For starters, what is the difference between McDonald’s square egg and their round egg? It’s a question that we hear a lot but we have never gotten a good answer.
Today is the day that all of that finally changes. TikTok user @essentialmcdonalds is responsible for this revelation and we are loving every minute of it.
As a McDonald’s worker themselves, they are well qualified to tell us all about the differences. As it turns out, it is all in the preparation. Just wait until you see this behind-the-scenes secret for yourself. It answers the age-old question: Are the eggs that McDonald’s uses actually real?
It’s a common query and for good reason. We love these breakfast sandwiches and can always inhale a couple of them at a moment’s notice. As it turns out, the eggs are as real as you want them to be. It all depends on how you decide to define the word. It’s a real “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” type of deal.
The worker is happy to explain so that we can finally stop speaking in riddles. “They come pre-cooked,” he says of the square eggs. “All we do is throw them on the grill.” This destroys the fantasy for us a bit but it is all good. We are still going to eat McDonald’s breakfast as much as we want!
Meanwhile, the round eggs are prepared on the spot. McDonald’s, for their part, has not been trying to hide this for any reason and they have been quite transparent. The process for the round eggs is simple.
A raw egg is cracked and then poured into a circular mold that is conveniently located right on the griddle. From there, the employees are responsible for popping the yolks and pouring water on top of the grill, which creates steam. To find out more, be sure to check out this awesome clip:
