Everyone loves the marshmallows inside the Lucky Charms cereal. They’re arguably the best part of the cereal. How many of us remember being kids and just picking out the yummy, sugary bits before eating the rest of the cereal? Even as an adult, I still do exactly as I used to as a kid. The rainbow or the clover marshmallows were always my favorite.
While 2020 has been a pretty terrible year, there was some good news. For a limited time only, people are able to purchase bags of just the Lucky Charms marshmallows! I’m sure many peoples’ inner child had never been so happy.

The bags of sugary goodness are full of the marshmallow charms that we all love – the small clovers, hearts, moons, horseshoes, and stars. Being able to purchase the marshmallows on their own means that there we lucky consumers out there no longer have to root around in the cereal box in order to pick out the best parts.
The idea was a result of Lucky Charms launching a campaign to further keep interest in their cereal product. As PEOPLE reported, General Mills had been “losing their magic,” so they turned to consumers for ideas on how to keep up public interest. This isn’t the first time that the cereal company has done this, but it certainly has been a while. Still, it was a reason to be happy – who wouldn’t want a bag of marshmallows?

As the senior brand experience manager for Lucky Charms, Mindy Murray, shared with Business Wire, “Lucky Charms is the only magical marshmallow cereal and I’m so excited to see that families across the country helped bring the magic back. To thank our fans for helping us restore this magic, we’re celebrating the launch of the Just Magical Marshmallows with a spectacle that embodies the magic of Lucky Charms.”
The bag is available as a 6 oz. pouch full of the 8 classic marshmallow designs that we’ve all known and loved throughout the years. In a social media campaign, the cereal company posted various posts that featured the sugary treats. In one of the posts they wrote, “For a limited time you can say #JustMagicalMarshmallows are mine. The magic will peak in the coming weeks!”

When they started to arrive on shelves, one Instagram user, Candy Hunting, posted a photo of the treats, excited to have found them.
This excitement is something that is palpable, as the cereal director of marketing for General Mills, Scott Baldwin, noted. In a statement with PRNewswire, he mentioned that there have been an increased flood of messages to the company across social media and their email inboxes from consumers who wanted to see another round of the Lucky Charms Marshmallow Only. Hopefully, we’ll get them on a permanent basis, but one can only hope.
