With each passing year, we grow more and more aware of our age (or at least I do). Months blend into years, and years blend into decades until one day you’re brushing your hair and find a dreaded strand of gray hair. Some people are blessed with a full head of naturally colored hair all the way up into their 50s, while others start getting their gray hairs in their twenties. I even went to high school with someone who got their first gray hair at 16!
No matter you’re current gray hair to colored hair ratio, I think we can all agree that very first gray hair put things in perspective a bit. We live in a culture that idolizes youth, so the first instinct a lot of people have is to start dying their hair.
While there’s nothing wrong with that, one barber made it his mission to make people feel good with their naturally gray and/or white hair. Jack Martin, the owner of Jack Martin Salon, has worked with many clients experiencing a bit of a mid-life crisis over their graying hair. That’s why he helped start a gorgeous new trend!
Take a look at some of the beautiful transformations Jack has done for his clients. While I love the hair itself, my favorite thing about these photos is the look of the women in the “after” photo. You can see how much confidence they have after going back to their natural gray hair. And let’s not forget the added bonus of not having to worry about your roots showing or paying to get your hair dyed every few weeks! Go ahead and get inspired to take a dive into the world of embracing your beautiful gray hair!
Buh-bye keeping up with roots!
Here’s a wonderful example of someone tired of the upkeep, but not quite sure what to do about the faded, brassy mess still left at the ends. Jack helped her embrace her lovely gray locks!
Look at that smile!
Jack says, “This gorgeous client came to me from Texas seeking silver hair to match her roots.” Gorgeous indeed! Her smile is absolutely radiant in the “after” picture.
Lean into the salt & pepper life!
Jake says, “This gorgeous client was extremely tired of coloring her hair every 3 weeks so we decided to match her hair with her roots.” I think this turned out perfectly! Amazingly, she looks younger with her new hair. Maybe it’s that sparkle in her eyes when she smiles.
Embrace that gorgeous gray mane!
Jack says, “This beautiful client came to me with hair that had multi different light and dark brassy colors, she was seeking gray silver ashy color to blend and match her gray roots so she can stop coloring her hair every 3-4 weeks.” Wow. I’m stunned. Her “after” picture is absolutely amazing. I like her natural gray hair so much better than when she was trying to hide it beneath brassy blonde!
Chunky highlights and lowlights
Jack says, “Some ladies they only have heavy grey around their front hair line the same as this beautiful client of mine who came from Arizona and I just framed her face with silver strands to blend her hair line grey roots to blend with the length of the hair in an artistic way.” I think it’s safe to say this is very artistic and well done!
Cut & color
Jack says, “This beautiful client came to me with hair that had multi different light and dark brassy colors, she was seeking gray silver ashy color to blend and match her gray roots so she can stop coloring her hair every 3-4 weeks.” Her hair looks completely different, and completely amazing!
Brassy and broken to shiny and silver!
Jack says, “Brassy boxed color to platinum silver. This beautiful client came to me seeking grey silver color to blend and match her natural gray roots so she can stop coloring her hair.” Not only does she look pretty pleased with the results, but this woman’s hair looks so much healthier! Goodbye dry hair and split ends. Time to embrace your best life!
Gray hair: check. Brilliant smile: double check
Jack says, “This beautiful client came to me with hair that had multi different light and dark brassy colors, she was seeking gray silver ashy color to blend and match her gray roots so she can stop coloring her hair every 3-4 weeks.” I think it’s safe to say this lady is happy with her hair! Just look at that contagious smile.
