one of the hardest parts about growing up and leaving home can be leaving behind a family pet. When moving away to attend college or start a career, it can be challenging to say goodbye to your furry family members, especially because they don’t always realize why you’re going away.
Thankfully, there are now more options than ever before to stay connected! With advancements in technology, we can connect with friends and family from around the world, and that includes our dogs and cats.

Morgan knows all too well how technology can help people stay connected with loved ones. When she went away to school in Texas, she left behind her family’s Bernese Mountain dog, Floyd.
The sweet pup was living with her parents in Chicago over 1,000 miles away, but Morgan was determined to stay connected with him. That’s when someone got the idea to use the home’s Ring Video Doorbell system to talk to Floyd!

From Texas, Morgan used the doorbell and called out to Floyd. The whole thing was recorded on the security device and it’s so precious.
Floyd instantly reacts to hearing Morgan’s voice and even comes up and licks the camera.

Morgan shared with Ring, “As you can tell from my laugh in the video, I was absolutely shocked that he finally found where the voice was coming from. He is so smart he knew exactly where the camera was and decided to lick it like he usually licks my face.”
