If you have spent any time online ever, you have seen some variations of this debate. A couple goes on a date and the bill climbs very high. There are some who believe that the man should always pay, and there are others who think that women need to be chipping in.
Daniela, who goes by @ikingdani on TikTok, was out for a celebration dinner with her boyfriend. It was their second anniversary and they had decided to treat themselves.
Her boyfriend made an innocent suggestion that instantly backfired. He wanted her to try out the Waygu sirloin. Anyone who has had some before knows that this is a very pricey cut of meat.
Everything was fine enough until they came to a shocking realization. She had ordered the 8-ounce Waygu by mistake! This accidental decision caused the dinner bill to skyrocket to over $400.
It was no one’s fault but it put the couple in quite a bind. The boyfriend obviously was not looking to punish her for the decision but that’s quite the bill to pay.
Of course, he paid it with no issue because he’s a very nice guy.
“My plate was $312 and his was $48,” Daniela said in the text overlay for the video. “I thought he was going to break up with me,” she continued in the video. “I walked out the restaurant crying,” she continued. “He [held] my hand while I was tearing up and told me we were going to laugh about it in a couple of months.”
This is a good man right here. That’s what we call a keeper. Of course, a debate erupted in the comments, as some people thought that she should chip in for the bill.

Even the most brazen man is not going to ask his girlfriend of a few years to chip in on her own anniversary dinner. At that point, all you can do is laugh it off.
“The server should’ve confirmed that’s what you meant to order given the disparity in the dishes,” said one user. That’s our take on this. They are the ones who should be blamed for this slip-up.
