It doesn’t matter which sitcom you happen to watch, they are all made up for our entertainment. We realize this, but some people still feel that some of the more iconic shows are worthy of close scrutiny.
This includes some long-standing series, such as Star Trek, where there are often holes in the timeline or plot that need to be filled. It seems as if the same is also true for Seinfeld, which is one of the most popular sitcoms of all time.
We realize that the apartments where people live in the sitcoms are not really apartments, they are Hollywood sets. However, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t made to look like they are real apartments.
In Seinfeld, the apartment is somewhat realistic and the different rooms seem to tie together nicely. It seems as if there is something not quite right, however, when they leave the apartment.
Upon exiting the door to Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment, they immediately turn right into the hallway. The strange thing is, they were walking through an area that was occupied by the kitchen on the inside of the apartment.
The people on Reddit discovered this fact, and now they are saying that somehow, the apartment building defies the laws of physics.
You may think that the hallway simply bends when they exit the door but there are plenty of times when it clearly shows that it goes through the kitchen area, as Twitter users shared.
Some people even went as far as to compare it to the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.
Twitter user @Trey_Explainer said:
“I love the idea that Jerry’s apartment is like the Overlook Hotel in the Shining and just has a bunch of spatially impossible doors to nowhere in it. Seinfeld is a psychological horror series.”
When you get right down to it, it’s really a problem with the production team and they didn’t necessarily plan things out properly.
Then again, they may not have ever expected people to look at it so closely. It just adds a new layer to the show that we appreciate.
