There is nothing quite like a delicious, hot pizza and sometimes, you may even call it a million-dollar pizza. Then again, the bill is likely to be around $20 for the pie alone, but you are sure to include a few dollars for a tip.
This is a scenario that plays out time after time, every day around the world. Sometimes, there may be a slight variation but nothing quite like what a waitress in Scranton, PA experienced.
When she picked up the receipt for a $13 bill, she found out that someone had left her a $3000 tip.
This unusual tip is part of a trend that is circulating on social media. They call it “Tips for Jesus,” but undoubtedly, it is the waiter or waitress that really benefits from it.
It all started when a man came into Alfredo’s Pizza Cafe in Scranton last month and ordered a Stromboli. He got his bill, which was for $13.25. That was reasonable, but the tip was over the moon.
Eric Smith is the man who is responsible for giving this tip. He does it regularly, traveling around the country and taking part in that social media trend. Random waitresses and waiters get the extra money for their service.
According to the New York Post, the waitress from Alfredo’s, Mariana Lambert said that the tip really touched her heart and said she was in shock over it. There were even other employees at the pizza place that said it was probably fake.
After running his card and taking his ID, they did a little investigative work to make sure it was legitimate. Lambert was happy that it went through and all was good.
Lambert is planning on paying some bills and going on vacation with her family. She is also going to pay it forward when she goes out to eat next time.
