If there is one thing we know about cola, it’s the fact that people have an ongoing love affair with it. More than likely, people have a favorite brand but they may also have a favorite type, such as diet, low-carb, or cherry flavored.
Along with all of those options, you can now add nitro into the mix. It seems as if the Pepsi-Cola company is now coming out with Nitro Pepsi, and it is sure to be a hit.
Nitro Pepsi is the first cola to be infused with nitrogen. According to a press release, the company is claiming that the new beverage is “softer than a soft drink” and the smaller, smooth bubbles will make it go down smoothly. When it hits the market, you can choose either Vanilla Draft or Draft Cola flavors.
Inside every can, you will find a small widget that is placed on the bottom. It’s an unusual technology, but it’s not the first time it has been seen. A number of different coffee and beer products have already used nitrogen infusion, so this is really just the next logical step in the process.
You can think of this as more than a different type of Pepsi, it is sure to be a new experience altogether. Since it does not look or taste like a traditional soda, Pepsi is saying that it would be beneficial to drink it differently.
In order to achieve what they call “optical consumption,” you can serve it cold without ice and pour it into a tall glass quickly while inverting the can. Another suggestion is to ditch the straw and drink directly from the glass, as the foam will leave a frothy mustache.
According to the press release, Pepsi’s vice president of marketing, Todd Kaplan, stated: “While soda has been a beverage of choice for so many consumers over the past century, some people still cite heavy carbonation as a barrier to enjoying an ice-cold cola. With this in mind, we wanted to come up with a new way for people to enjoy delicious Pepsi cola, but with a new experience around the bubbles. Nitro Pepsi is a first-of-its-kind innovation that creates a smooth, creamy, delicious taste experience … we believe Nitro Pepsi is a huge leap forward for the cola category and will redefine cola for years to come.”
He went on to call Nitro Pepsi innovative and say that it will create a delicious taste experience. The company believes that it is taking the cola category to the next level and will redefine the beverage for many years. You can pre-order the drink from Walmart here.
