When we head to the movies, we try our absolute best to clean up after ourselves. That’s because we do not wish to leave any extra work for the movie theater’s employees.
We assumed that this was a common impulse but this TikTok is here to teach us a lesson. It turns out that people are actually very, very careless. Now, their filth is finally being exposed to the rest of the world.
Simply Rachael, as she is known on the app, is here to tell us more about the things that she finds while working as an usher. At first, we assumed that the clip would be a lighthearted one but it wasn’t long before we realized just how disgusting people can be. The clip has already gotten 7 million views, so clearly we were not the only ones who were stunned by this.
In the video, Rachael is seen cleaning up the theater. The amount of trash that she found after an early screening of the animated musical film Sing 2 will absolutely blow your mind. She was able to fill six 50 gallon garbage bags with trash! That’s insane. Of course, there was plenty of popcorn spilled all over the place but that’s not all that she was able to find.
She also found a black hat, some dollar bills (at least she got to pocket some cash, right?) and AirPods (for what these cost, you’d think people would be careful). In addition to these items, she found empty buckets, soda cups, sunflower seeds, and shredded napkins.
“We had to bring out the big broom,” she said. That’s the understatement of the year. Videos like these definitely give us a greater level of appreciation for all of the hard work that these ushers put in to make sure that we have clean theaters to hang out in. People need to start thinking about that before they make the mistake of giving them even more work to do.
She and the other workers needed 45 minutes to get the theater back into decent condition. “And it was not like clean clean,” Rachael adds. “It was like, we had to leave when the movie started.”
We were flabbergasted by what we saw and we hope that this video inspires others to do better. There is absolutely no reason to leave this kind of ridiculous mess for others to clean up!
