As the coronavirus continues to spread throughout the US, it seems as if our lives have been changed in so many ways. Perhaps one of the most noteworthy changes involves grocery stores. After all, the high volume of shoppers trying to stock up for shutting themselves at home has been overwhelming. Many stores are now changing their hours due to the crowds and guidelines from government officials. They want to ensure that the store is restocked and cleaned before they open the next day. They also want to keep their employees safe.
It seems as if every store has been affected in some way or another. In the list below, you will see some of those changes, although there may be additional changes since the time it was written. After all, new guidelines and regulations are constantly coming out, so always check before you head out.
It is also important to only head to the grocery store if you feel healthy and if it is truly necessary. There are plenty of supplies so don’t hoard items. Above all, wipe down your carts and baskets and wash your hands.
Target
Normal store hours are in place, but there are limits on certain products, such as toilet paper, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, bottled water, and others.
Albertson’s
The store is open with normal hours but they are “asking customers to respect quantity limits of select, high-demand items (like hand sanitizers and household cleaners).”
Whole foods
Most locations are keeping hours as normal but hot bars and salad bars are being temporarily suspended. They also are closing indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Walmart
Until further notice, Walmart is open from 6 AM till 11 PM. The chain has also “authorized our store managers to manage their inventory, including the discretion to limit sales quantities on items that are in unusually high demand.”
Aldi
Some locations may adjust store hours or are temporarily closed, although they don’t give an exact location in their statement. Contact the local stores to learn more.
Trader Joe’s
All Trader Joe’s are now open from 9 AM till 7 PM
Kroger
Updated store hours in some locations have occurred “based on local circumstances.” You can always check here to see what stores are affected. There may be some limits on how many “cold, flu and sanitary products” can be purchased by each customer.
Publix
Publix stores are now closing at 8 PM with purchase limits on some items.
Wegmans
A change in store hours may be seen at some locations and there is a two-item purchase limit on some products. Read more here.
