Man Shares How To Makes A Face Shield With A Krispie Kreme Box

It seems as if facemask tutorials are the flavor of the month, and we have seen our fair share of them on social media. They are also quite popular and people are marketing facemasks left and right.

Face shields are often used to protect even further, although they aren’t necessarily recommended as a replacement for a facemask by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). There are times when a face shield could be worn along with a facemask to protect you even further. That is especially beneficial if you are going to be close to others and want some extra protection. The CDC provides some caution about wearing a face shield without a mask, saying that the shield should “wrap around the sides of the wearer’s face and extend to below the chin.”

If you are interested in trying a face shield but you don’t want to pay for one, you can always try using a doughnut box. That’s right, you can go out and buy a box of doughnuts and then use the box to create a face shield. It’s ingenious, and it just requires a run to Krispy Kreme.

The DIY face shield video was posted by Andy Clockwise on YouTube and it is as amazing as it sounds. The only thing required is a box from Krispy Kreme, tape, and scissors.

Clockwise demonstrates cutting off the lid of the box to create the face shield. It requires that you fold the box in a specific way, but he demonstrates it in the video nicely. After wrapping the modified box around his face, he then cuts slits in the box so that it fits your face perfectly.

Interestingly enough, the DIY shield seems to meet the recommendations of the CDC. It is below the chin and wrapped around the sides of the face. You will love it because it also smells like donuts!

It looks like a trip to Krispy Kreme is in order.
