There are times when shows are so popular that they spark a sequel or two. At times, they may even result in a prequel, and that is the case with the American drama series, Yellowstone.

If you happen to be a subscriber of Paramount+ and love country music, then you may have seen that TV drama series. The prequel is called “1883” as it is set in that time period and follows the Dutton family on their trek across the West.

In the planned prequel, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are slated to star as James and Margaret Dutton, who are the patriarch and matriarch of the family. Sam Elliott is also going to be in the series as Shea Brennan, a cowboy. They will be working their way from Texas to Montana in what is sure to be a popular show.

Tim McGraw broke the news on TikTok, saying: “So excited I can finally share this. I’m joining the Dutton family in the ‘Yellowstone’ prequel, ‘1883,’ coming to Paramount+!”

More than 5 million people were in their seats to watch the premiere of the original show, which starred Kevin Costner. It ended up being the second most-watched drama on cable TV in 2018.

McGraw and Hill, who play the Duttons in the prequel, have been married for 25 years. They have three daughters, Gracie, 24, Maggie, 22, and Audrey, 19.

They are excited to be working together on such a project. McGraw even said in an interview with PEOPLE that it is rare for anyone to experience what they do for a living and to do it together.

He went on to refer to his role in 1883 as a “dream job.” His wife readily agreed.

According to Viacom CBS, she said: “This is the opportunity of a lifetime. The Duttons are a formidable family and it is an absolute dream to bring such a strong female character like Margaret Dutton to life. I am humbled and honored to work with Taylor [Sheridan, the show’s creator] and his entire team.”
