Located in Northern California is the state’s tranquil Wine Country. It’s a haven for travelers flocking from around the globe to sample the region’s finest wines, eat at the indulgent Michelin-starred restaurants, and just thoroughly enjoy the picturesque countryside.

Part of enjoying California’s Wine Country is taking one of their many different wine tours. And recently, we stumbled upon a fun wine tour experience that is both unique and within budget. It’s the VW bus tours that go through Sonoma, Napa, Temecula, and Healdsburg.

The company, West Wine Tours, offers day trips to three of Sonoma’s best wineries, which are Ram’s Gate, Winery Sixteen 600 and Larson Family Vineyards. As part of the tour, you also get to enjoy a freshly prepared lunch made by a local chef. And, in typical California style, all the lunches are nut and gluten-free, plus they accommodate any special dietary requests, so long as they’re made ahead of time.

The Napa tours usually stop at Hagafen Cellars, Pestoni Family Vineyards and Paraduxx for tastings. And these are also accompanied by lunch prepared by a local chef. Every bus comes with a tour guide who has complete working knowledge of California wine, so if you’re a total wine newbie you’ll leave a well-informed expert by the end of the tour. The tours are open to anyone who wants to learn about California wine and the regions.

The tour prices begin at $125 per person. They can be booked online or via an app with AirBnB Experiences. The average review of the tour is 4.8 stars out of five – which is not bad at all.

It is also very important to keep in mind that the price doesn’t include the wine tastings themselves, but, according to a few reviewers, many of the wineries offer discounted tasting prices through West Wine Tours. Each VW bus can fit up to 8 people, so grab your friends and make that trip to wine country happen!
