Minnesota is not a state that would be mistaken for a tropical locale. We already know just how cold it can get up there, even if we have never been there to check it out for ourselves.

The woman in this video is about to show viewers at home just how cold this state can get and believe us, you are not ready for what you are about to see.

This state was not exactly a big wintertime destination as is and this video drives that point home. The phrase “freezing your pants off” never felt so real before. Now that TikToker @yooperjanet is here to let us know how cold Minnesota can be, we are renewed in our desire to never visit this state…..at least not during the winter months.

As one of the coldest states in the country, Minnesota offers no shortage of frigid temperatures and massive snowstorms to deal with. Janet, in her most charming Minnesota accent, explains what life is like for her. Would you like to learn more about the complexities of dealing with temperatures of -28 degrees Fahrenheit with a -48-degree Fahrenheit wind chill factor? Of course, you would and that’s what she is here for.

These temperatures are so cold that any item that was placed outside essentially froze recently. It’s the sort of thing that sounds totally made up until you see it in action for yourself. “Yesterday, I was having fun freezing eggs and some spaghetti because it’s so cold here,” @yooperjanet explains to the audience at home. “Someone suggested that we freeze our pants. So last night as a family, we froze our pants off.”

We watched this clip from a safe, warm place and we could not stop laughing. The pants are literally frozen in place and it looks like there is an invisible person wearing each of them. She even knocked on each pair of jeans to show the audience just how frozen they were. Her husband was worried once she brought them to the side of the road, though.

“Come on; it’s hilarious. My husband thinks it will cause an accident. I think it’s hilarious,” she said. We are in full agreement here, that is for sure.

Minnesota is not a place where we are going to be spending our winters and our hearts certainly go out to anyone who does have to live there. At least this mom is making the best of it…..
