An Artist Made His Sister A Real-Life ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Cake For Her Birthday

He must be a true Sleeping Beauty fan because he has certainly nailed all of the details.

The COVID-19 outbreak has led to the shutdown of all Disney parks but that does not mean that we can’t experience a little bit of Disney magic in our own home. For starters, you probably saw the recipe for churro bites that was unveiled by Disney last month. The company has decided to pull the curtain back on a number of their awesome recipes during the quarantine period.

Whether you are looking to make grilled cheese or Dole Whips, they are here to help. Whether you are someone who is familiar with Disney parks or you have never been before, you probably know all about Sleeping Beauty. Foodies everywhere love the movie because of the famous scene where Merryweather, Fauna, and Flora try to bake their own cake without using their powers.

@brittanysofty is a Twitter user who shared her own Sleeping Beauty story recently. As it turns out, her brother tried to make her birthday special by recreating this delicious cake. The results are absolutely tremendous. True Sleeping Beauty fans probably remember that Fauna’s plan did not exactly come to fruition during the movie but that is okay!

Fauna wanted to be the one to bake the cake but her lack of experience kept her from doing so. Merryweather stepped in and put a stop to this plan. “She’s always wanted to, dear, and this is her last chance,” said Flora. Flora was trying her best to remain diplomatic during the dispute. Merryweather was quick to point out that she had never handled a recipe like this one before.

“And she’s never cooked,” she huffed. Flora’s retort was perfect, though. “All you do is follow the book,” she said. However, it is not always easy to follow the book when you have magic powers at your disposal. Flora’s lack of experience caused her to put whole eggs into the recipe, without taking the time to properly remove them from their shells first.

So yesterday was @brittanysofty’s birthday and I knew she’s always loved the Cake the Fairies make in Sleeping Beauty, so I did some engineering and finally figured out how to make it for her. I had to make the broom by hand using things lying around the house because I couldn’t find one the right size or style 😬 I ran into more issues than I care to admit and it didn’t turn out exactly as I’d planned, but in the end it worked and it’s still standing! Although it’s now missing a few slices 🍰 Swipe for the Reference Photo! #HappyBirthday #HappyBirthdayBrittany #SleepingBeautyCake #SleepingBeauty #BirthdayCake #CakeWrecks #Birthday #QuarantineBaking #Quarantine #Cake #Baking #CakeDecorating #Aurora #Disney #PrincessAurora #DisneyCake #DisneyMovie #DisneyReplica #Art #ArtistsOnInstagram #DisneyMagicMoments #DisneyAtHome #AtHomeImagineering

Her finished product resembled the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the cake would not stand up on its own without the use of a broom. Brittany’s brother must be a true Sleeping Beauty fan because he has certainly nailed all of the details.
