Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

As far as real estate is concerned, bigger has always been better. In more recent times, however, the emphasis seems to be on tiny, as in tiny homes, micro-farms, and condo living. Sometimes, it’s nice to see something that is a little bigger being spotlighted, and that is what we have today.

When you first look at this home, you likely think that it is just a large modern home but when you look closer, you might notice that it has a more industrial twist to it. That’s all thanks to what it’s made out of: shipping containers.

It is a big home, but it was built in tiny home fashion because they put 12 shipping containers together in order to create it.

If you wanted to see the home in person, you would have to travel to the Waikato region of New Zealand. That part of the world is known for its green landscapes and exceptional beauty.

The home fits right in, and it even has an industrial feel that includes polished concrete floors. It also has room to spread out, with three bathrooms, six bedrooms, and plenty of open spaces.

The part of the home that most of us tend to live in, the kitchen and dining area, are an open design. There is also a double staircase that leads to the bedrooms and other parts of the home.

Outside of the home is a little cottage that is perfect for guests, a garage, and a swimming pool.

Although the bedrooms are connected by the common living area, they also are a great place to spend some time. The majority of the bedrooms have their own deck or balcony, perfect for getting away from it all and having a little solitude.

Even the bathroom is somewhere you would want to spend some time!

You may not be somebody that is necessarily interested in tiny home living and you may never put together a home out of shipping containers. Looking at what these people did, however, is inspirational.
