Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Various celebrities (such as Amy Schumer and Queer Eye’s Antoni) are hosting their own in-home cooking shows and it seems to have inspired others to do the same. Selena Gomez is about to join the party and she’s struck a deal with the HBO Max streaming service to provide 10 episodes of an in-home cooking show for her devoted fan base.

She’ll be trying her hand at all sorts of cool recipes and will be preparing foods from a number of different cuisines. Best of all, each episode will feature a remote appearance from a chef who is going to assist her with the meal. HBO Max, the new streaming service, is scheduled to launch later this month (on May 27th) and will feature a variety of entertainment, including some classic shows that we know and love, like The Big Bang Theory and Friends.

Selena might be a gifted actress and singer but, apparently, she’s not the best cook. The chefs who are going to be assisting her will be providing very important tips that we pedestrians can use as well! They’ll offer up the necessary substitute ingredients and provide helpful advice on how to handle kitchen fires as soon as they break out.

Even though she’s not a professional, she does not allow that to put a damper on her love for cooking. We could all stand to learn a lesson from her. In a statement from the Associated Press, she said:

“I’ve always been very vocal about my love of food. I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef. I definitely don’t have the formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen.”

In addition to starring in the show, Selena is also going to be wearing the executive producer hat. Is there anything this woman can’t do?
