Ingredients
  • 1 loaf white sandwich bread, sliced
  • 16 oz uncooked bacon slices
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 375 and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cut slices of bacon in half, then set aside.
  3. In a medium-size bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  4. Cut the crust off the bread slices and spread on the cream cheese mixture to cover the whole slice, then cut each slice of bread in half or in thirds, depending on the size of your bread.
  5. Tightly roll each bread strip with the cream cheese on the inside, then wrap a halved slice of bacon around the outside and secure it with a toothpick. Place in the prepared baking dish and repeat process with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Bake for 22-24 minutes or until bacon is crisp and bread is golden brown.
  7. Serve warm, with a pepper jelly or jam for dipping if desired.
