Ingredients
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 2/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Preparation
  1. Heat a large heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and brown until cooked through.
  2. Add onion, bell pepper, and carrot, and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce and cook 1 minute.
  4. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, hot sauce, 1 2/3 cup water, and Italian seasoning. Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Add macaroni, cover again, and let simmer until tender, about 20 minutes more.
  6. Season to taste and enjoy!
