Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ½ cup butter-flavored shortening
  • 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 ¼ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoons baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups mini chocolate chips
Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, add butter, shortening, and sugar. Mix until light and airy.
  2. Add eggs to the mixture one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  3. In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Cover the bowl of dough and place in fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  6. Once dough has chilled, preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line 2 large cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Portion out dough in ~1 tablespoon sized balls and place on the prepared cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until cookies are slightly golden in color.
  9. Allow cookies to cool for several minutes then transfer to a cooling rack.
