Ingredients
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 7 eggs, at room temperature
  • 3 cups cake flour, sifted twice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preparation
  1. Butter and flour a 10-inch tube or bundt pan. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Add half the flour and mix, followed by the whipping cream, then the remaining flour. Add vanilla and mix to combine.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Set in a cold oven and turn heat to 350°F.
  5. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 60-70 minutes.
  6. Let cool in pan 5 minutes before inverting. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
