Ingredients
  • 2 (20 ounce) cans apple pie filling
  • 2 apples, diced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 ½ cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal, crushed
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread both cans of apple pie filling in the bottom of the prepared dish, layer diced apples on top, then sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Sprinkle cake mix powder over the apples in an even layer (don’t mix it in!).
  4. Arrange butter pats evenly on top of cake mix then sprinkle crushed cereal over the whole dish, followed by the brown sugar, then drizzle on the remaining melted butter.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes then cover with foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until cake layer is cooked through.
  6. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
