Ingredients
  • 6-7 baked croissants, cubed
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup applesauce
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Apple Mixture
  • 4 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Icing
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Add cubed croissants to the baking dish and spread into an even layer. Set aside.
  3. To cook apples: melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and mix until smooth. Add apples and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often. Mix together cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Once fully incorporated, stir mixture into apples. Stir in lemon juice then remove from heat.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together heavy cream, applesauce, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  5. Spoon apple mixture onto croissant layer and then pour egg mixture evenly over top. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  6. For icing: Mix together powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla until smooth. Allow bake to cool for 5 minutes then drizzle icing over top.
Breakfast for a full house!
