Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large apples, sliced 1/8-inch thick
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 6 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup whole milk, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Powdered sugar, for serving
Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and add butter to a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place dish in oven while it's preheating, and remove when butter has melted.
  2. Add apples, sugar, cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt to the pan and toss in the melted butter. Return to oven and bake until apples have softened, about 15 minutes.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vanilla, and remaining salt to a blender and process until light and frothy. Add flour and mix until smooth.
  4. Once apples have finished baking, pour batter over apples into hot pan. Continue baking until edges are golden brown and center has puffed up, 20-25 more minutes.
  5. Serve with powdered sugar and enjoy!
