When you own and operate a pub, you often put your heart and soul into it. Not only do you want people to have a good time, you want them to let others know that visiting will lead to a good time as well. Unfortunately, things don’t always go that way.

Anglers Rest in Ballyconnell, Ireland may be a relatively small pub, but they managed to attract some very big attention.

It happened when they got negative feedback. This can be devastating for some establishments but not for Anglers Rest. Not only did they come out swinging, but they also won the battle.

The pub shared a picture on Facebook, writing: “If you have no critics, you’ll likely have no success.”

Like many pubs, they have a chalkboard out front and they wrote up the negative review from 2015. The owners responded by telling people to come in and meet the “two young fellows” without personalities that seem to be brothers. They then signed it Jane M. from TripAdvisor

They also couldn’t help but point out the fact that they were actually brothers.

Taking a look at the review, it talked about the “pathetic service” provided by the pub and was supposedly written by somebody from the general area.

The review went on to say: “Service was very mediocre with two young fellas who had absolutely no personality seemed to be brothers.”

She said that the service left a lot to be desired and that she used to be a regular at the place, but it has gone downhill. She complained about the spray cream on her pie, but she did like the steaks.

I guess you can’t please all of the people all the time.
