First dates can be a lot of fun but they can also be rather nerve-wracking experiences. This is a chance for people to either get to know someone better or find out if there are any deal-breakers. Everyone has their own preferences, but a new poll revealed that peanut butter lovers are especially picky when it comes to finding a partner. In their defense, food preferences are very important when choosing a partner.
OnePoll conducted a survey on behalf of Jif recently, according to SWNS digital. They wanted to find out more about this all too common debate during the lead-up to National Peanut Butter Day. As it turns out, there are vast differences between those who love crunchy peanut butter and those who love smooth.
2,000 individuals were questioned for the survey, giving us a wide range of responses to draw on. This group was split down the middle, which speaks to the great peanut butter divide that threatens to consume us all. OnePoll took their questions one step further, looking to find out more about the personality traits and past experiences of the respondents, and the results are quite interesting.
One-third of people claim to be passionate about the type of peanut butter that they prefer. This passion apparently knows no bounds. According to these respondents, the preferences would affect a prospective relationship. Nearly half of those who responded said that they would have no problems exiting stage left if their first date was someone who preferred a different type of peanut butter.
That seems a bit extreme to us, but who are we to judge here? This is not even the wildest response from this survey. Over 60 percent of the respondents said that they would not even think of consuming any peanut butter that was placed in front of them unless it is their preferred kind.
Creamy peanut butter lovers tend to be early risers and are introverted by nature. The opposites were true for the crunchy peanut butter fans. These are not conclusions that we would have come upon our own but that’s what these surveys are for.
There is one key item that they agreed upon, though. Grape jelly is the best choice when it comes time for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
