Paper towels are some of the most versatile items in the home. We are accustomed to reaching them for them when a number of spills and issues take place.

Some might knock the idea of keeping them in the fridge before they have even had the chance to hear us out. Did you know that these towels can be used in ways that you never thought possible? There’s no way that you ever could have expected this one, that is for sure.

According to Reader’s Digest, paper towels in the fridge are actually a great way to ensure that your vegetables stay fresh for an even longer period of time. This is a great solution for those who are looking to enjoy their vegetables and are tired of watching them wither away inside of the fridge.

It all starts by lining your produce drawer with paper towels every single time that you bring some fresh produce home.

The hack works best as long as the paper towels are replaced each time. If the produce is brought home inside of a singular bag, throw a paper towel inside with them.

The other helpful aspect of this comes into play when the produce drawer is not getting as dirty as it once did. That’s a major plus for those who do not want to spend their days cleaning the fridge.

Since fruits and veggies release moisture over the course of time, it is important to combat these issues before they have a chance to rear their ugly head. The water pools inside of the drawers, causing the fruits and veggies to go bad far more quickly.

That does not mean that the fruits and veggies will not ever go bad again, though. It just means that the process is slowed down significantly.

Now, you are no longer going to be forced to waste this valuable produce.

If you have not already started to put paper towels inside of your fridge, what are you waiting for? You are missing out on your chance to enjoy much fresher produce for a much longer period of time!
