Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

This little trick is an absolute game-changer. If you are anything like us, you like sending out cards with money in them to your relatives when their birthdays roll around.

It does not matter how old they get, we still love to do it! However, there is a common issue that can tend to arise in these instances. What happens when you forget to place the money in the envelope?

As it turns out, there is a very simple solution that will keep you from having to tear your envelope to shreds in the process. Once you place the envelope in the freezer for a bit, it will open with ease. The seal opens right up, allowing you to take the letter or card out without any additional issues.

If you are anything like us, you were today years old when you learned of this hack. We promise you, there is literally nothing to this. There are no added steps or secrets that we are keeping. All you need to do is place your envelope in the freezer and the rest takes care of itself. Sit back, relax, kick back and just wait for the freezer to do it for you.

We would like to note that we are not advising that anyone pull this type of stunt when it comes to an envelope that is not theirs. Yes, we are looking right in your direction, all of the bad roommates out there. Don’t use this hack as an excuse to indulge your more nosy side.

The same goes for all of the naughty children out there who are looking to get into the mail, especially when they know that a bad report card or a detention slip is on the way home.
