Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

A nightclub in Dubai is getting a ton of heat (& rightfully so) for their campaign “It’s good to gain weight” which offers women a credit to use at the bar based on their weight. For each kilogram a woman weighs, Fusion nightclub will give you one Emirate Dirham, which is the currency of the UAE.

If this deal isn’t already weird enough, they also have a pink scale when you enter.

“Although we have a weighing machine at the bar entrance, we do not insist our guests to verify the weight,” the hotel’s food and beverage manager Anil Kumar told Insider. According to their report, some people have mixed feelings about the offer, but either way, the club has decided to make this deal available through the end of the year.

“We don’t have to be too serious on everything,” Kumar said. “Dubai is a city for entertainment and fun. We never ask women to check their weight, we trust them and just serve whatever number they wrote on the paper without asking questions. Therefore, we don’t see any reason to feel any bad intention about the offer.”

I’m all about having fun, but this deal takes things way too far.
