There are many reasons to enjoy a fair, but the food has got to be near the top of the list. That is especially true when you are talking about the Minnesota State Fair, which has been a tradition since 1859. Over the years, it has been canceled for the U.S. Dakota War, WWII, and the Civil War, but this year, it is canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

One of the greatest traditions that is associated with the fair is the food. The folks at the Minnesota State Fair don’t want you to miss out this year, just because they aren’t opening their doors. In fact, they already have drive-thrus with fair food in the community. A Minnesota-based company is taking things to a new level now that they are offering “State Fair to Go” kits. You can order them online.

You will find many staples from the fair in the kits, including cheese curds, corn dogs, French fries, chocolate chip cookies, and mini donuts. Shipping starts on August 17 and you will pay $59.95 for one of those boxes. If you live in Minnesota, you can get the boxes shipped to you for free, but if you live elsewhere, you will pay $14.95 for shipping.

Each box will be enough fair food to feed 5 people, but don’t worry, there is no rule that you have to share. The boxes of food will need to be prepared at home but they will provide the cooking instruction so you can do it without a problem. So, the fair may be closed this year, but you now have the option of bringing the best of the fair home to you.
