Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

There are certain trends on TikTok that make perfect sense to us and others that elude us entirely. When it comes to this particular trend, we have to admit that we are somewhere in the middle.

As it turns out, electric milk frothers can be used for more than just breakfast. We cannot stop laughing at this ingenuity and we have to admit that this idea is pretty smart.

You just have to get past the initial strangeness of it all. Electric milk frothers are part of the latest beauty fad, wherein people dilute their foundations with the use of water. From there, they combine them with the frothers. We had no idea that they had any usage outside of the kitchen, so this one is certainly news to us.

It is called “makeup frothing” and it is receiving rave reviews from all those who try it out. It is said to create a lighter, whipped texture. For those who wish to achieve a more dewy look than what matte can provide, makeup frothing is certainly clutch. These are not the only benefits that the practice has to offer, either.

Now that we are all dealing with the after-effects of inflation, makeup frothing provides us with the ability to make a bottle of foundation last even longer than before. This hack is also far less likely to stain clothing, which is another important aspect to keep in mind. Others are combining their products as a means of aerating them. Some even put the foundation in water before applying it, to further enhance the dewy effect.

Avonna Sunshine is a content creator who uploaded a cool video that has already gotten over 100,000 views. In her clip, she combines the foundation that she wishes to use with some water by using a small electric frother. The results are incredible and she absolutely swears by them.

“CALL ME CRAZY but this is GENIUS,” she captions the clip and we are inclined to agree. The more we think about this one, the more sense it makes.

The water-to-foundation ratio is not specified in the clips that we have seen but many have compared the consistency to mousse, which also makes perfect sense. Check out the videos below:
