Lisa Kudrow Is Up For A Friend’s Reboot But Only If Certain Conditions Are Met
If you happen to be a huge fan of Friends, then it is likely that you tuned into HBO Max to see them get together again. It was an amazing ride, but it is also something that doesn’t seem to be a possibility for the future as well. That is, unless Lisa Kudrow has anything to say about it.
When it comes to reboots of popular series, we have seen quite a few of them over the years. This includes everything from Saved by the Bell to Dexter, so it would be no surprise if Friends got a reboot as well.
Indeed, fans of Friends would likely come out of the woodwork and it would be wildly popular from the very start. Then again, there may be certain changes in the cast and how it is played out that would irritate some of those fans as well.
That is where Kudrow comes in. Recently, she talked to Where Is the Buzz, saying that she would be happy if a reboot of friends were to occur. First, however, she said that it was not going to happen but then she backed up a little and said that she would love to see it happen. As long as it had a brand new cast and did not have any returning actors!
As far as anyone knows, there is no reboot for Friends that is on the horizon. The co-creator of the show, Marta Kauffman, was at a Tribeca TV Festival panel, according to Variety, when she said there would not be any reboot and no reunion.
At the time that she said it, David Crane was in full agreement, saying, “We did the show we wanted to do. We got it right, and we put a bow on it. If you visited those characters now, it just would not be the same DNA and chances are, it wouldn’t be as good.”
So, it seems as if those two are not going to be working on a Friend’s reboot with the old or new cast. Then again, we never know who might take up that ball and run with it in the future.
