Biscuits may not seem like a very complex dish. After all, how much is really going into them? However, this is crazy talk to those who are experienced chefs. Even the best chefs can struggle to get them exactly right because they are tough to handle at times. They fall under the category of foods that are technically “easy” to make but actually very hard for anyone to master.

Anyone who is looking for a few extra tips and pointers on their biscuits would do well to look to Joanna Gaines. Gaines is here to provide the necessary assistance to all those who need it.

The finale of her new show Magnolia Kitchen is a great watch for anyone who can’t seem to get their biscuits just right. In fact, the entire episode is devoted to them!

We love the passion that she brings to all of her cooking projects. The full episode of her biscuit recipe can be found on Discovery+, but you can view a preview on her YouTube channel.

For those who think that biscuits are simple, Joanna has one key lesson to share. It took her a whopping six months to fully perfect this recipe. The development process was intensive but she found one very simple fix: She added two eggs to the recipe, much to her family’s delight.

“That was the day that all of the kids and Chip unanimously voted that this was going to be our biscuit recipe,” Gaines says. During the episode, she also provides additional guidance on the items that can be paired with the biscuits, like the additions to make Strawberry Shortcake with Homemade Whipped Cream.

“We cooked through some of my all-time favorite recipes and only a few dozen (or more) sticks of butter—but who’s counting?” wrote Joanna in a post about this episode. Head to the Magnolia Table website if you would like to learn more about her recipes.
