Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Whether you are a city slicker or someone who prefers the countryside, you have to admit that the prospect of land ownership is appealing. We all dream about getting away from the rat race from time to time. If this dream is ever going to become reality, we need to get started before it is too late. We do know one thing, though: we want to have lots and lots of chickens.

That’s what makes this story such an adorable one. This husband knew that his wife wanted a chicken coop that she could call her own. He decided to take matters into his own hands and build it for her, himself. Our hearts grew several times in size when we first saw the post. There is something about these types of stories that truly tugs at the heartstrings.

This is one of the sweetest stories that we have come across lately. Once you take a closer look at the miniature city that this husband took the time to build, you are going to be swooning. We wish that our significant other would take the time to build us something that looks this awesome. The traditional red barn is a very nice touch and we love the Livery Stables sign that was put up.

The old Western motif is maintained throughout the town. There is even a saloon for the chickens to visit when they are looking to grab a cold one. This man did not forget to put a mercantile in, too. A hotel and cafe are also available for the chickens’ pleasure. It’s always nice to see a husband pulling out all of the stops like this. If the chickens misbehave, there is even a jail for them to be placed in.

Let’s just hope that it never comes to that, though. We are sure that the chickens are going to do exactly what they are told. Rooster’s Ridge serves as the watering hole so that the chickens are always able to stay well hydrated. The blacksmith’s stand might be our favorite touch, though. One thing is for sure: a great deal of time and effort was put into this miniature city.

Many husbands would have been content to provide their wives with a store-bought coop, but this man went the extra mile. All of the other husbands out there need to be taking notes on how to make their spouses smile. If we are ever able to get our hands on the land that we want, this is an idea that we are definitely going to be coming back to.
