Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Life has surely changed in recent months. The coronavirus pandemic has shut down the majority of the world and, even though things are beginning to open, it is happening a lot slower than most of us would like.

One of the ways in which the coronavirus has touched most of us is in the use of masks. Nobody really enjoys wearing them, but they have become a reality. Perhaps one of the more important things to consider, along with safety, is the need to feel comfortable when wearing a mask.

Quite honestly, that is easier said than done. We may even have switched from one type of mask to another, thinking that it is going to help keep the fabric from sticking to our face or keep us from breathing in the mask with every breath. We just need a simple solution, and Angie Madden, a teacher, seems to have it.

It comes in the form of a simple product you can purchase on Amazon, the “face bracket.”

After drawing attention to this unique product, it really became popular. It has been around for a while, but the plastic piece is shaped to outline your face, including your nose and chin and it is even adjustable! After you have it on your face for a while, you won’t even know it is there.

The face bracket is used under a mask and it helps to form a barrier between your nose, mouth, and the fabric that covers it. It may look a little unusual but it is quite functional. You still get the coverage you desire but it gives some space for your comfort.

“You stick it on your face, and you put your mask on, and when you wear it keeps your mask off your face,” Madden said. “So you can hear me clearly, I’m not breathing my mask in, and my mask doesn’t move off my face. I wore it all day. I didn’t have any issues. It looks really weird but it’s amazing.”

Another benefit of using the face bracket is it helps to protect your makeup. You can use it over and over again, and it can easily be applied and removed. You can buy it on Amazon for $10.50. If you enjoy comfort, you will appreciate it. Listen to Madden talking about the face bracket in this video:
