Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

When it comes to the proper use of a horse trailer, I don’t think anyone would argue that they are used for hauling horses. As it turns out, they have another use and it is just as amazing as it sounds. People are taking those old horse trailers and turning them into some amazing camping trailers. It seems strange, but wait till you see it.

Fred Cote is a resident of British Columbia, Canada who purchased a horse trailer from the 1970s in order to turn it into a camper trailer. It turned out to be a rather extensive project, but in the end, it has us all wanting one. Here is how things work.

This is a look at the horse trailer when Fred purchased it at first. It was in sorry shape, but it was about to get better.

The inside of the trailer was completely gutted and the whole thing was reframed with insulation.

It took a lot of work, but the horse trailer was transformed into a yellow camper.

Birchwood lines the entire interior of the trailer. It has a kitchen area, bench seating, and there is even a toilet under one of the benches.

You can fold the seating area down into a queen-size bed.

I can only imagine how enjoyable it will be to take out this camper for the weekend.

Well done, Frank!
