Halloween is a time when many people watch spooky movies, and Hocus-Pocus is one that many people tend to gravitate toward. It was a great mixture of comedy and everything that makes us reflect on Halloween. In 2019, we were given the news that Hocus-Pocus 2 was in development at Disney. Bette Midler has now come forward to say that the other Sanderson sisters, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, will also be in the movie.

Variety reported in March that Disney hoped that the trio would be back for the new project. They were willing to reboot the film with a brand-new cast but they would rather have the original. Midler gave an interview with Fox 5 New York’s “Good Day New York,” where she said that “all of us” would be in the sequel to the 1993 classic.

Midler said that she had watched the original movie for the first time in 20 years back in 2018. She said: “They want to make a movie, they’ve asked us if we were interested and of course all of us said ‘yes. I’m game, I’m totally game.'”

The trio has even got together and put on their old costumes from the original Hocus-Pocus movie to promote a virtual event. That one-night event is called “In Search Of The Sanderson Sisters.”

Midler is known for her ‘Hulaween’ annual celebration, but the virtual Hocus-Pocus reunion will take its place. Her original celebration is in taking place in 2020 because of the pandemic. You can watch the reunion on October 30 at 8:00 PM ET.

Elvira will be hosting the event, which also features many other guests, such as, Glenn Close, Billy Crystal, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Debney, Samantha Diaz, Todrick Hall, Jennifer Hudson, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Michael Kors, Adam Lambert, George Lopez, Alex Moffat, Vinessa Shaw, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, John Stamos, and Meryl Streep.

In her interview, Midler says that it was “bizarre” to have the old characters together again. She also talked about how unusual it was to put the gear on and they seem to have fallen into the same relationship and behaved similarly to what they did 27 years ago. In her words, it was “As if we had been off for a weekend!”
