For most of us, washing hair seems like a simple task. It’s not like any of us are reinventing the wheel.
From the looks of this, there are a few of us who do not seem to have this one down pat as of yet. This former hairdresser is here to blow the lid off the whole thing and we are loving every minute of it.
Who wouldn’t want to learn more about the best ways to wash hair? That’s a rhetorical question, for sure, but we highly doubt that there is anyone who isn’t intrigued right now. We all want to get the most out of our daily grooming routines, regardless. So, how can we amend our shampooing routine going forward? The answer is much simpler than most realize.
There is one particular area that most of us are missing and we do not even know it. If you are rubbing the shampoo all over your hair, this is not going to cut it.
“Do not wash your hair like this, just rubbing shampoo in and hoping for the best. It will leave your hair super dirty,” the former hairdresser explained. This is not something that we ever considered.
But, wait, there’s more. “Wash like this,” she continues. “Use your fingertips to scrub that scalp. I always wash 2-3 times til I feel everything is squeaky clean.” That makes a lot of sense. Too many people make the mistake of not scrubbing their hair from underneath. Instead, they are focused on scrubbing up top and that can be problematic for a number of reasons.
“You have to get underneath. This is the most forgotten part,” she confirms. The video has already received over one million views, as the internet tries its best to make sense of it all. The comment section was especially funny, as it seemed divided between those who were already clued in and those who were flabbergasted to find out that they have been doing it all wrong.
That’s life! You are never too old to learn new things and we are glad that this hairdresser is passing along all of her knowledge. We knew that there was a reason why our hair always felt so clean every time that we got it shampooed at the salon.
