If you’ve never had the opportunity to visit a world-class theme park, you are really missing out on something wonderful.
Such a park is coming to Glendale, and the news is exciting, thanks to some new rides coming from a partnership with Mattel, Inc. Those proposed rides include a roller coaster, indoor go-carts, and an indoor theme park of Thomas & Friends.
The 48 acre Crystal Lagoons, Island Resort was announced in 2020, and by the time it is finished, it will have a 4D theater, world-class restaurants and hotels, a beach, and a concert venue. If all goes as planned, the park will become a reality late in 2022.
According to KGUN9, the Glendale city manager, Kevin Phelps, said: “We are delighted for Glendale to be the flagship location for this resort that will bring technology and globally established partners to create a one-of-a-kind environment.”
He went on to say that the Mattel-themed Adventure Park will be a complement to the entertainment and sports district that is already doing quite well in Glendale.
One of the highlights of the proposed theme park is a Thomas The Tank Engine passenger train. It will be a full-sized electric-powered train, but there are other experiences that are in the works by the developers.
The President of attractions & entertainment for Crystal Lagoons Island Resort, Mark Cornell, spoke about how Mattel shares their vision and is setting the “platinum standard” for what they bring to the table.
