Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Flying can be a rather boring passage of time. Most airplanes are pretty cramped so the seating isn’t the most comfortable. Plus, there is only so far that you can wander while walking around when the seatbelt sign is off.

Yes, most airlines provide entertainment in the form of movies and TV shows, but even those can only stretch so far.

For most of us, flying means watching a movie or two before inevitably nodding off for a few hours for a really uncomfortable nap.

But, if you’re a creative person, you could find other ways of entertaining yourself – and potentially other passengers around you.

Personally, as a writer, I end up using flights as a time for catching up on writing. When I’m stuck inside a flying, metal tube I find it more fun to escape to a fictional world than face my cramped world in the back of economy class.

One artist used his flight time to impress one of the flight attendants who was working on Japan Airlines. While flying, the artist began sketching one of his flight attendants. It came out so well, that when he showed it to her, he was pleasantly surprised when she asked to keep the drawing.

But the wholesome exchange didn’t just stop there.nNot only was she thrilled to receive the picture, but before the flight was over, she actually returned the favor as well! It was quite cute.

I never expect someone to draw a picture for me too 😭
