Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

JK Rowling recently sparked an interesting discussion on Twitter, as she hopped into the fray and offered her take on an optical illusion that came her way.

These are some of the funniest discussions of all, if you ask us. “If you’re right-brained, you’ll see a fish. If you’re left-brained, you’ll see a mermaid,” the original illusion read and we were already perplexed.

“It’s a donkey, though,” said Rowling in her tweet. Of course, the photo went viral.

There were all sorts of people who wanted to see if they qualified as left-brained or right-brained. From the looks of it, no one was seeing the animals that they were supposed to. They did not see a mermaid or a fish and the results are too, too funny.

“I’m proud of everyone responding to this correctly pointing out that it is a seal,” wrote one Twitter user. That’s not all that they had to say about this one, either. The comments are hysterical because they are making us feel much better about our inability to notice the animals in question. They have us feeling a lot less crazy than we did just a few short minutes ago.

“Saw a horse. Then a seal. Then realised it’s more a donkey than a horse indeed but maybe more a seal than a donkey. Where’s the fish?? Where’s the mermaid???? I think if you see either one of those you should tell your doctor you’ve got hallucinations,” said another user. We could not agree more with the hallucinations aspect.

If you are seeing a fish or a mermaid in this photo, please feel free to explain it to us. In fact, we would like you to explain it to us like we are five years old. Hold our hands and walk us through it, if you are feeling so inclined. The last thing that we want is to be left out of the optical illusion magic.

What do you see? Let us know!
