Some experts say there’s a secret trick to removing scuff marks from your walls without damaging the paint: by using toothpaste.

Though this technique won’t work for every type of scuff, many people say it has worked for them while also adding a polished and refinished touch.

First, take some non-gel toothpaste and a little bit of water, then use a toothbrush to scrub the scuffs until they disappear.

The reason toothpaste can work so well as a stain remover is because it’s already designed to remove stains from our teeth. “If it’s not gonna mess up the enamel of your teeth, it’s likely to leave the paint intact, too” the panelists on The Doctors say.

Other alternative uses for toothpaste include using it to polish chrome, remove clothing stains, clean diamond jewelry until it sparkles… and even remove sticky chewing gum from hair.

Just another cool, simple life hack to add to the list.
