Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Believe it or not, Thanksgiving is right around the corner! If you’re hosting your family’s Thanksgiving feast this year, you might be a little intimidated, even if you’ve done it in years past. Between the turkey, the pies, the sides, and trying to keep everyone entertained, it’s no wonder this can be a stressful time for the cook! Perhaps one of the more exhausting parts of the whole ordeal is planning the meal. Never fear, we’ve got some tried and true recipes for your Thanksgiving meal, which will take at least one thing off of your to-do list. There are a few classics on here, as well as some twists to the regular Thanksgiving staples. Go ahead and see what we do for our Thanksgiving meal every year!

Simple, Delicious Roasted Turkey

Here is our deliciously simple (and simply delicious) roasted turkey recipe… the result is amazingly flavorful and moist, and the cooking process doesn’t have us pulling our hair out. We’ve been making it like this for years and we don’t see ourselves stopping anytime soon!

Bacon Cornbread Stuffing

While we love everything about Thanksgiving, it’s the stuffing that’s generally our favorite part – if we were forced to choose, that is. We love most stuffings, but require that they be super moist and flavorful…none of that dry stuff for us. Secondly, while we have had great stuffings that were made with French bread, we prefer a slightly sweet and salty combo that comes mainly from using cornbread instead of regular bread, and bacon instead of sausage, which strikes just the right balance of salty and sweet. Salted Caramel Pretzel Sweet Potato Casserole

Oh my goodness, this is sweet potato casserole (and not just any sweet potato casserole) is definitely one of our new fall faves, and is absolutely making an appearance at Thanksgiving…and also possibly at Christmas as well. The thing about this dish that elevates it from the usual November/December staple is the topping we’ve added…the salted caramel pretzel topping, that is. Get the recipe here!

Cheesy Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes

Are you ready for a dish that’s as impressive-looking as it is tasty? We’ve got you covered with these creamy, cheesy scalloped potatoes. Not only that, but these are scalloped hasselback potatoes, so all that delicious sauce gets into all the (many) slices of potatoes and really takes this dish to the next level. Speaking of the sauce, it’s a creamy bechamel that thickens beautifully and coats the potatoes like it’s its job…which it is! Get the recipe here!

Creamy, Crunchy, Green Bean Casserole

One thing we love about this dish, beyond all of the fond memories, is the combination of creamy and crunchy that comes from the cream of mushroom soup and of course, the fried onions. And we think this counts as eating our vegetables since the presence of green beans must surely count for something! The crunchy fried onion topping is perhaps the most irresistible part of our casserole. Fried onions are delicious on their own but get an extra toastiness baking in the oven, everyone tries to pick off a piece or two once this comes out of the oven! Cranberry Orange Sauce

This cranberry (orange) sauce tastes divine when paired with turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes, and all you have to do is throw the ingredients in a pot; it’s such an easy recipe, you can delegate it to someone and not worry about what it’s going to turn out like. That’s how Thanksgiving is done, folks– delegation! This sauce will give everyone something else to be grateful for, so go ahead and add it to your must-make list! Get our recipe here!

Best Ever Pumpkin Pie

fresh homemade traditional rustic festive pumpkin pie dessert

This is the ideal pumpkin pie – smooth and custardy and bursting with pumpkin and spice. It’s so perfectly pumpkin that it satisfies those autumnal cravings if you only eat it once at Thanksgiving, but its rich flavor is enough that you’ll start thinking about it as soon as the dog days of summer see their way out. It’s that good. Get our recipe here!

Grandma’s Tried And True Pecan Pie

An extreme close up horizontal photograph of a slice of freshly baked thanksgiving pecan pie on a white plate. The black background over the dessert and the amber colored filling of the pastry offer some copy space for your message.

This classic dessert is a real favorite among dessert lovers, and for good reason. It’s sweet and nutty, and always brings back fond memories, so there’s a special place in our hearts for this classic treat. The best pecan pie has a smooth filling, a crunchy, nutty top, and a fully baked bottom crust. It’s not too sweet or rich as nut pies risk becoming. While we’ve made plenty of other pecan desserts, we realized we hadn’t yet shared our recently-discovered favorite of them all, the best and only pecan pie recipe you’ll ever need! Classic Apple Pie

Apple pie is one of those timeless, treasured dishes that generally evokes memories of togetherness and the comforts of home. The inside is sweet and tender while the outside is flaky and slightly crisp, and the spices within give the whole thing an amazing warm and rustic flavor. It’s a true American classic.
