If you have been paying attention, you have probably noticed that the popularity of toast seems to be growing from a worldwide standpoint.

Japanese food artist Manami Sasaki is here to capitalize on this trend, as she has been greatly inspired by the food. She’s found a number of ways to create beautiful art out of bread and toast.

Her work is incredibly detailed, but one of her most notable pieces is inspired by footwear. She created an edible shoe made of bread!

It’s not every day that you get the chance to take in this kind of art. She does have some pieces that are designed to mimic past works from other great artists but this is not the primary objective here. Sasaki is merely looking to create original work that resonates with all those who see it.

In order for the shoe to maintain its structural integrity, a number of different breads were used. Water and flour were also very instrumental when it came time to make sure that this shoe was still held together.
