The ketogenic diet was all the rage in 2019 and it was also one of the most Googled words last year. If you are not familiar with the keto diet, it’s a high-fat, moderate-protein, and low-carb diet that many people swear by. I did the keto diet last year and I can tell you that it is fairly easy to stay on track except when it comes to sweets.
Thankfully, Duncan Hines has come to the rescue with their new cake cups that have zero grams of added sugar. In just one serving, there are five grams of net carbs and 10 grams of protein, so they are relatively healthy considering they are ‘cake’ cups.
Currently, there are three different dessert cup flavors to choose from. Fans of the keto diet will be happy to know that you can now eat walnut fudge brownie, double chocolate cake, and birthday cake. According to Delish, Duncan Hines plans on releasing them in March and will be sold for around $2.15.
Even if you aren’t on a diet, the cake cups are pretty awesome considering the fact that there is very little prep and virtually no clean up at all. To make one, all you have to do is add in some water and butter (or even coconut or avocado oil), stir thoroughly and then heat it up in the microwave for about a minute.SKM: below-content placeholder
