I don’t know about you, but Airbnb has changed my life. Ok, that may be going overboard but it sure has changed the way that I travel.

If you are someone who appreciates an Airbnb deal as much as I do, you will love what is coming online in November. The Downton Abbey estate, which is actually Highclere Castle is now available to rent, but it does come with a catch.

If you want to rent the Downton Abbey Airbnb, you can only do it for one night.

The listing was made available by the owners of Highclere, Lord and Lady Carnarvon to honor the Downton Abbey film, opening on Sept 19. Two fortunate guests will be able to stay in the 300-room home on Nov 26.

“During your stay, you will enjoy an exclusive evening drinking cocktails in the Saloon followed by a traditional dinner with the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon in the State Dining Room, being waited on by Highclere Castle’s own butler,” the description continues.

“After dinner, coffee will be served in the Library before you retire to one of the Gallery bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom and views over 1,000 acres of rolling parkland.” Very nice!

So, what’s the bottom line?

The price will not be available until 7 am EST on Oct 1 but according to some reports, it will be around $187. It is more than just a getaway for Downton Abbey fans.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies will also receive a donation from Airbnb.

Where do I sign?

If you want to take part in this unique offer, you have to have a verified Airbnb profile and some positive reviews. It also is helpful if you love the TV show.

“Throughout the stay, Lord and Lady Carnarvon will immerse the guests in the rich history and heritage of Highclere Castle with a private tour of the Castle, the Highclere Estate,” the listing notes.

Julian Fellowes, the creator of Downton Abbey knew early that the property would be part of the series. “One of the reasons I love Highclere for Downton is because of its personal statement. When you come down the drive, it is a statement of aristocratic confidence,” he previously shared.

“The people who built this house believed in themselves, they believed in their role in society and that is very useful in making it a character, which is what the house has to be.”

Luis Coelho, Highclere’s butler also talks about the high level of service you can expect: “Our team of butlers still dress in tails when looking after the family,” he explained. “I think these are great traditions that we will always have at Highclere.”
