Although we may enjoy many different types of food, bacon always seems to be near the top of the list. You add it to any dish and suddenly, you have a mouthwatering delight.

The problem is, that not everybody cooks bacon the same way, and sometimes, it doesn’t have that crispy texture that we enjoy so much. It seems as if that is no longer going to be a problem, thanks to chef Roice Bethel.

In a TikTok video that has blown up on that social platform, the chef demonstrates his method for cooking bacon perfectly. He takes a scientific approach, discussing bacon and its different parts, such as fat and muscle.

He says: “The muscle cooks extremely quickly, the fat takes a longer time to render out.”

That is when he reveals his secret. Putting some water in the pan allows the fat to render off without getting the temperature too high and overcooking the muscle.

“Once the water completely evaporates then the bacon gets nice and crispy, the meat’s not overcooked or burnt and the fat has perfectly rendered so it’s nice and crispy,” he explains.

The video has millions of views and people were absolutely amazed at how much of a game changer it was. There were some commenters who tried to bring in their own methods of cooking bacon, but you can’t take away from the amazing hack that this chef provides.
